Mid-summer activities included a visit from a jazz band; making wire jewelry and bead work; writing poetry; gardening; art shows; learning the importance of taking your blood pressure; making decoupaged wooden holders for pencils or knick-knacks, and painted wooden spoons usable for cooking; the introduction of the new HEAL Food Bank Program; knitting for Operation Gratitude, an organization that collects, distributes, and sends care packages for the troops; and a workshop about the Vietnamese American Oral History Project, hosted by the Department of Asian American Studies at UC Irvine, where undergraduate students are collecting oral and video histories from
Vietnamese immigrants to America. All this, plus our usual slate of classes and opportunities to learn and have fun, make living in an EngAGE community a great experience!
Starting this month, we’ll be combining our Community Highlights Albums and Community Photo Albums into one large post, so you’ll see all of our EngAGE Community Photos in one place. You can click on any picture to enlarge it.
