Lots of lively activity in January at our communities. In addition to enjoying our usual creative offerings and the invaluable services provided by our HEAL Foodbank and our Social Services coordinators, residents got busy with a Yogalates class and entertainment by Roy the Karaoke Man. Klawitter performers Hedda and fellow-musicians travel from Ireland each year to collaborate with EngAGE to sing traditional Irish songs and tell stories collected from Irish seniors, and gather some from our residents to take home with them.
EngAGE is delighted to be the recipient of a 2014 grant from the Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation which allows us to provide residents with the benefits of two talented teachers: Martha Faghani promotes creativity and inspiration in the visual arts and creative writing by incorporating different art mediums to make personal memoirs, and musician Patrick Berrogain inspires residents to “Unleash Their Composer Within” by using iPads.
