MARC MANTELL has directed both stage musicals and plays in California. He has just returned from directing concert versions of “Fiddler On The Roof” and “South Pacific,” which tour major theatres in Florida, playing to sold out houses.
His writing credits include documentary and eight original screenplays, including the sequel to the cult hit “Easy Rider.” An accomplished playwright, Marc’s work has been produced on both coasts:
“Apartments” (Critics Choice: LA Times).
“Duck Dancing” had staged readings with Renee Taylor and Dom DeLuise.
“Intimate Strangers”, his first musical (book, lyrics, direction), was mounted by the Long Beach Civic Light Opera.
“Identical Twins From Baltimore” ( Critics Choice , NAACP Image Award) was optioned as a film project for Martin Short and produced Off-Broadway.
“Madly In Love” had workshop productions in NY & LA.
This season, his musical “Por Siempre Navidad” premiered in Bogota, Columbia.
But the back story is the real winner –
Marc lives at NoHo Senior Arts Colony in North Hollywood, CA.
He said that if his characters had lived in the Arts Colony, the play would never have been written!
More to come on Marc and the cast of older actors……….
