This week members of the Alliance for Retired Americans sponsored a series of events nationwide to let their lawmakers know how much working people depend on Medicare and Social Security. Last month was the 46th anniversay of the establishment of Medicare and August 14th marked the 76th anniversary of the establishment of Social Security. On Tuesday, demonstrators in downtown Los Angeles showed their support for the programs.
