Palace Theater in LA Celebrates 100th Anniversary

FILMThe Palace Theater in downtown Los Angeles celebrated its 100th anniversary in June with an extensive renovation. From the LA Times article:

“The polished marble near the entrance gleamed, and the gold leaf around the giant pastoral murals that flank the theater’s stage glistened. Eleven hundred brand-new red velvet seats awaited theatergoers there to watch Billy Wilder’s 1950 classic, “Sunset Boulevard.”

Fortunately, Ezat Delijani, patriarch of the family who owns the Palace and three other historic downtown theaters, lived to see the impressive results of the restoration; he passed away August 27th at the age of 83. Read more about his legacy here.
