Although it will be several more years before the project gets underway, the need is already apparent.
“The 55 Laguna Project in San Francisco would include 330 multifamily market rate units, at least 32 affordable family units and…109 apartments geared toward low-income gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, 55 and older…There will likely be a lot of competition for moving into the 55 Laguna senior complex because it is the only affordable LGBT retirement facility on the drawing boards in the greater Bay Area.”
In fact, the only other housing for low income LGBT seniors in the western U.S. is Triangle Square, a 104-unit apartment complex in Hollywood (served by EngAGE). Read more here.
