News from Casa Bonita

Gloria Tinajero, EngAGE Social Services Coordinator who does double-duty as a Latin dance instructor, reports, “The Latin Dance class offers the residents an opportunity to listen to music, exercise, learn new dances, learn about music from other cultures and come together as group. The dance group is an open forum for the residents to create their own direction and ideas of dance. This month the residents formed a dance circle and took turns going in and out of the circle to share their own dance moves from their country. They were very  happy and excited by this.”

Residents also had the opportunity to participate in  a trip to Huntington Park Farmer’s Market, a class in conversational ESL, a drum circle, an informative presentation about Medi-Cal, an on-going computer class, and a walking group.
