Dr. Bill Thomas is the author of five books and two plays. Bill’s most recent book, What Are Old People For?, draws on sources as diverse as evolutionary biology, Shakespearean sonnets and Greek philosophy to make the case that elders belong in the heart of society. A visionary and internationally renowned expert on aging, Thomas is an Ashoka Fellow and winner of the Heinz Award for the Human Condition. In partnership with his wife Judith Meyers-Thomas, he created The Eden Alternative, now an international nonprofit, and The Green House Project, both models to revolutionize nursing home care.
