Lauretta Jennings, a certified personal trainer, developed an exercise program that allows seniors to “sit and get fit.” She brings her chair exercise class, called “Chaboom,” to 52 assisted-living, long-term-care, and senior residences in and around Hingham, Massachusetts.
“She mixes upper body and leg exercises, and alternates fast and slow beats with stretching. ‘You have to keep it upbeat to keep them moving,’ she said. She describes her job as ‘a fun party that gets everybody moving in their chairs, getting a good cardio workout and working the muscles.'” More here.
