Diana Serra Cary: “Baby Peggy”

Diana Serra Cary, 94 years old, is now an author and advocate for child actors’ rights, but she is best known as Baby Peggy, one of the three major American child stars of the Hollywood silent movie era along with Jackie Coogan and Baby Marie. Between 1921 and 1923 she made over 150 shorts for Century Studios. We posted on Facebook last week about the television premiere on TCM of a documentary about her entitled, “The Elephant in the Room.” Below is a trailer for the documentary. Click here to watch a 4:00 clip from her interview for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences library. Read a Wall Street Journal article here.
