News from Burbank Senior Artists Colony: Spotlight on Dorian Best

The Burbank Senior Artists Colony partners with local theater group NEO Ensemble Theater. NEO helps teach acting workshops and classes, does readings of their upcoming plays, and does full dress rehearsals for their large productions here in our building in Burbank. Recently, our resident, Dorian Best, was cast in one of their plays, “Over the River and Through the Woods,” based on all of her great work in our acting classes. Congratulations, Dorian!

Tim Carpenter at Courage to Lead Program

EngAGE CEO/Founder Tim Carpenter checked in from La Casa de Maria Retreat and Conference Center in Santa Barbara, CA, last week: “I am excited to have started the Courage to Lead Retreat Series with 27 other social sector leaders. Looking forward to the yearlong program.”

The Courage to Lead® program is designed to provide a nurturing environment for nonprofit executive leaders through the development of a trusted peer group for mutual support and inspiration. Run by Leading From Within and developed by Parker J. News from Pac Arts: Photos from “Four Sight” Reception

San Pedro, CA, celebrated the 20th Anniversary of FIRST THURSDAY ART WALK on November 2nd, and Pacific Avenue Arts Colony held an Opening Reception for “FOUR SIGHT” at the Pac Arts Gallery. Four female artists exhibited their work: Monica Belni, Pati Monge, Lisa Mosely and Gloria Sanchez. The gallery was bustling with residents and visitors who enjoyed the eclectic artwork, and the exhibit also included a special gallery wall featuring the artwork of the young student artists. Resident musicians Daniel and Tabby entertained and everyone enjoyed mingling, dancing, and munching on refreshments. “FOUR SIGHT” will run through January, 2018. Pac Arts is at 303 S Pacific Ave, San Pedro, CA.
