Radio Makes People Happier

RADIOFrom the Huffington Post: “A new study commissioned in the U.K. by the Radio Advertising Bureau concluded that listening to the radio makes people happier than watching TV or surfing the Internet.”

Of course, this makes us very happy, too, because we like to think our audience enjoys our Saturday morning radio show, “Experience Talks!” We’ll continue to post here on the blog about the guests on our upcoming shows and please remember that you can listen to previous shows just by going to our website at www.experiencetalks.org.

Here’s what Bill Rose, the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Arbitron, concludes in the HuffPo article: “A lot of the new media gets more press, more buzz, more attention, but people use radio more year over year.” That’s just fine with us!

Every Stitch a Memory

hand made exclusive handmade hand craft custom crafted authentic

“Needlepoint is normally a craft you’d associate with quaint pillow cases and warm reminders of home sweet home. Netty Vanderpol has done something completely different. Vanderpol is a Holocaust survivor. . . [she] felt compelled to tell the story of her experience as a Dutch victim of the Nazis. She chose to do it through needlepoint.”

It took her six years to complete twenty dramatic pieces. Click here to see a slide show of her beautiful work and listen to her story.
