Drummer Clarence Johnston to be Honored

EngAGE is delighted that our own Clarence Johnston is being honored by The Living Legend Foundation at “A JaZzabrationTM” on Thursday, August 30th, at the Regency West Supper Club in Los Angeles. Click here for the details.

For over fifty years, Clarence has been a world-renowned jazz drummer, traveling and performing with jazz artists Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dinah Washington, and many others. We’re fortunate that he now facilitates drum workshops and jazz history classes at our EngAGE communities.

You can read more about Clarence Johnston here on MM Media. Also, here’s a quote from his “Beautiful Minds” interview for the National Center for Creative Aging:

“Age is not in my mind at all.  I’m a professional musician.  All I think of is the next day.  I don’t think of age.  All I do is work to keep up with what’s going on!”

Congratulations, Clarence!
