Last week at the Grantmakers in Aging Conference in New York City, Kelly Kent, Senior Program Office of the May & Stanley Smith Charitable Trust; Julene Johnson, PhD, Associate Dean for the Research Institute for Health & Aging at UCSF; and Tim Carpenter, CEO/Founder of EngAGE, presented research showing that EngAGE’s arts programs for older adults improve health and help battle isolation. The session was standing room only, well-attended by grantmakers from around the country that fund programs in aging. Also on hand at the conference were EngAGE Northern California Executive Director Laura Mason and Experience Talks Producer Christal Smith.
