The Grammy Museum is offering free admission to celebrate Grandparents Day on the 8th and free admission to everyone on Wednesday evenings during September. Since seniors often have limited resources for doing things like visiting museums, a handy guide to free admission seemed like a useful idea. Here’s a short list for our area:
LACMA
- After 3 pm for LA county residents Mon–Fri
- On the second Tuesday of each month
- On select federal holidays, sponsored by Target
- Martin Luther King, Jr Day—Monday, January 20, 2014
- Presidents Day—Monday, February 17, 2014
- Memorial Day—Monday, May 26, 2014
MOCA
Admission to MOCA Grand Avenue and the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA is free every Thursday, 5–8pm, courtesy of Wells Fargo.
OCMA
Orange County Museum of Art visitors can enjoy free admission to the Museum and access to family-friendly activities and programs on the second Sunday of every month, courtesy of Target and the Visionaries Support Group.
Pasadena Museum of California Art
Free the first Friday of every month (12–5pm)
Free the third Thursday of every month (5–8pm)
The Autry National Center in Griffith Park
Free to the public on the second Tuesday of every month, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day
The Hammer Museum
Free every Thursday for all visitors
Norton Simon Museum
Free the first Friday of every month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
