ROBERT EGGER, Founder/CEO, LA Kitchen – Robert Egger is the CEO and Founder of LA Kitchen. He pioneered the model during his 24-year tenure as President of the DC Central Kitchen, the country’s first “community kitchen,” where donated food is used to fuel a nationally recognized culinary job training program. Robert has received numerous awards for his leadership in the nonprofit sector, and is the author of the award-winning book, Begging for Change: The Dollars and Sense of Making Nonprofits Responsive, Efficient and Rewarding For All. Tim Carpenter talks to Robert Egger about feeding Los Angeles while revealing the true power of food.
ALAN MANDELL, Actor – Alan Mandell is an actor known for his roles in the works of Shakespeare, Beckett, and others, in stage productions on and off Broadway, throughout California and in Europe. Alan toured France and Germany with the original productions of Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot” and “Endgame,” directed by Beckett himself. Alan is the recipient of LA Weekly’s first Lifetime Achievement Award. He currently stars in the LA Theatre Works’ radio theatre performance of Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People” at the UCLA James Bridges Theater, April 10th through 13th. Tim Carpenter talks to Alan Mandell about Ibsen, acting, and his friendship with playwright Samuel Beckett.
