The Spirit of Thanksgiving – EngAGE Staff Style!

News from EngAGE C.O.O. Dr. Maureen Kellen-Taylor:

In the madness that always seems to reach fever pitch on the afternoon preceding Thanksgiving, two generous-hearted staff – Nathaniel Hall and Elizabeth Sampson – contributed their time, energy and caring to deliver free Thanksgiving Dinners to residents of several EngAGE-served Senior Apartment buildings.

Nate’s constant mission is to get free and healthy food to those in need. He spends his Sunday afternoons picking up donated produce from the Brentwood Farmers Market (courtesy of FoodForward) and delivering it to places as far away as Panorama City and Long Beach. When he heard about the possibility of donations from Big Sunday he was first in line to request some.

When Elizabeth heard that Nate was planning to drive the donated Thanksgiving dinners on Wednesday afternoon, in spite of her packed schedule, she volunteered to halve his journey by delivering dinners to Panorama City.

One of their colleagues, Sharon Springer, spoke for all of us when she said

“You two are amazing!  I know your hard work was appreciated by the recipients.
Makes me proud to know and work with you.”

Me, too!

Thank you, Nate, Elizabeth,  Big Sunday, and FoodForward.
