Click here for a very useful list of links that provide information on reporting elder abuse, Medicare fraud, protecting your Social Security number, and much more. You can also find state and local help by searching on Google for consumer information, such as the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the Consumer Protection Division of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

(The page at the first link has changed a bit since the original post, but you can still find important information and further links there. There’s also a search function if you want to know about something that’s not listed.)
