If you’re a senior who is living on a tight budget, you’ll appreciate the 2015 Best List of Senior Discounts compiled by The Senior List. Check out the savings you can pocket on groceries, prescriptions, restaurants, apparel, air lines, car rental, and hotels. Some require an AARP card, but many are based solely on your birth date. (We suggest that you call first to verify that these discounts are still in effect.)
Be sure to check with your local senior centers, too. Some offer an activity card for a small fee that allows you to take classes at a discount as well as get discounts at local merchants. Here’s one example in EngAGE’s hometown, Burbank, CA:
“Burbank Senior Activity Card – E-trak Plus 2015 BSAC cards are available at the Joslyn Center for $15 (Burbank residents) and $20 (non-residents). Cardholders receive discounts on programs/classes, at select Burbank businesses, and more.”
Have fun and save money!
