NOW POSTED: “FRIENDS”

Host ALICIA SEDWICK discusses the profound power of friendships with psychologist DR. RANDY KAMEN and interviews five girlfriends about the importance of their 40 year long, continually growing relationship to each other.

Kiawah Island Girlfriends

The Kiawah Island girlfriends, who meet annually, met in a North Carolina high school in 1976.

Randy_Kamen_DrDR. RANDY KAMEN,  in her own words: I am a psychologist, author, and forever an educator at heart. I have influenced the lives of thousands of people through the media, in corporate settings, hospitals, medical institutions, and private practice.

It has been my privilege to work side by side with many of the pioneers of mind-body medicine, positive psychology, and cognitive behavioral therapy. My work weaves together and integrates the central principles of these compelling, highly effective, and intelligent disciplines.

I am committed to supporting women in their effort to overcome personal challenges and to build more joyful and meaningful lives. I teach women key strategies to advance their self esteem and confidence, build resilience, and strengthen relationships––all against a backdrop of self compassion.

Ultimately my goal is to support women as they access their full potential and live the life of their dreams. As Mary Oliver so aptly inquired, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” This is where our work begins.
