Art Instructor Nicole Galardo reports: “We had fun painting jars with glow-in-the-dark paints to use as centerpieces for our Halloween pot luck. We made dots in the inside of the jars with two colors of paint. In the end, they looked like marbles or fireflies inside the jars when they glowed in the dark.”
And before we’re too far past the celebration, let’s take a moment to acknowledge Halloween at Villa Anaheim. Site Leader Nicole Galardo reports: “After many hours of decorating and planning, we successfully pulled off a fun and different kind of party for our residents. I was unable to attend, but [EngAGE V.P.] Nancy Goodhart filled in for me and took some great pictures. I provided the cake and worked right up until the day before putting the final touches on the Haunted House. It was a festive presentation with a fog machine and black lights, and Halloween themed music. Seventy kindergarteners from Centralia Elementary came to walk through and trick or treat with our residents. The kids actually sang a couple of songs for the seniors, which was an unexpected surprise! After the kids left the Potluck began.”
