2015 - pexels - giftsJoan Williams was denied the chance to ride as “Miss Crown City” in the Tournament of Roses Parade in 1958 when it was discovered that she was black. But on Thursday, the city of Pasadena finally will honor the 82-year-old who will be riding on the lead float in the 126th annual parade. Story here.
