Experience Talks Host/Producer John Semper, Jr., will be appearing at the San Diego Comic Fest this weekend. John is probably best known for his work as both producer and head writer on “Spider-Man: The Animated Series,” the hit action-adventure animated series for Fox Television, based upon Marvel’s pre-eminent super-hero character. John worked directly with Spider-Man’s creator, Stan Lee, in bringing 65 episodes featuring this popular character to the TV screen. His script for “Day of the Chameleon” was nominated for an Annie Award, the animation industry’s highest honor.
On Saturday, John will be featured in a Spotlight presentation about his career; on Sunday, he’ll share a panel with Scott Shaw (noted comic book artist/historian) and Floyd Norman (animator/Disney Legend awardee) for a discussion about working at Hanna-Barbera; on Monday, he’ll talk about his latest creation, “War of the Rocketmen,” inspired by the old Republic serials of the thirties and forties, and the many rocket-powered comic book, TV, and movie heroes from over the years; and later that afternoon, he’ll talk about the making of “Spider-man: The Animated Series.”
It’s a busy schedule and should be great fun for John and the many fans who will be attending! If you’d like to join them, you can get details here.
