Sterling Court in Anaheim started the new year with creativity and fun!
Art Class: Making art inspires creativity and gives residents an opportunity to socialize across cultural boundaries. Instructor Nicole Galardo: We developed our acrylic paintings and learned about making an overlapping composition wherein we mix the two colors of the shapes that are overlapping. This creates an interesting abstract piece of art. The students finished them this month. Yoyo said, “This one will definitely hang on my wall!” Sharon said, “My daughter loves it!” I was proud of them moving in a more artistic direction.
New Year’s Party: Seasonal and other social events are often by request of residents and bring them together across language and cultural differences. Program Assistant Nicole Gilardo: We had a lot of food and fun conversation. Arthur said, “I will always attend, because I really enjoy getting together with EngAGE! I also met Linda for the first time. She said that she was very happy she came, and that she enjoyed hanging out with me and the other residents!”
