ASHTON APPLEWHITE began blogging about aging and ageism in 2007 and started speaking on the subject in 2012, the year she started the “Yo, Is This Ageist?” blog. She is a Knight Fellow, New York Times Fellow, and Yale Law School Fellow; and has been recognized by the New York Times, National Public Radio, and the American Society on Aging as an expert on ageism. In 2015 she was included in a list of 100 inspiring women—along with Arundhati Roy, Aung Sang Suu Kyi, Germaine Greer, and other remarkable activists who are committed to social change. Listen in as Tim Carpenter talks to Ashton Applewhite about her new book, This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism, and raging against the dying of the light.
