Food Forward organizes access to quality produce from local Farmers Markets. EngAGE staff picks up the food and distributes it to residents. This food distribution program is very much appreciated and enjoyed by Metro Compton residents.
In collaboration, EngAGE and Community Care met with residents and went over Community Garden guidelines. Recently, they discussed the new planting date and residents were also provided with a list of crops for the new season. Residents enjoy and take a lot of pride in their garden. ~ Community Care is a Compton based organization associated with the Chamber of Commerce. Its mission is to educate, instruct, and provide supplies to community gardens. Community Care started the Compton Community Garden with META Housing Corporation and WSH Management.
