WHEN:
Saturday June 11th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

WHERE:
MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund),
Wasserman Campus,
Woodland Hills, CA

WHAT:
The morning will feature a presentation by Marcy Cottrell Houle and Elizabeth Eckstrom, MD, authors of The Gift of Caring: Saving Our Parents from the Perils of Modern Healthcare. The presentation will be followed by a workshop facilitated by Terrence McNally, who will engage participants in “tapping the unique power of narrative – not only to engage audience, both inside and outside your organization, but also to better define for yourself who you are. (see Let’s Tell Stories of a World That Just Might Work)

We will develop and share stories that:

*Bring attention to the needs of older Americans as well as successful ways to
meet those needs.

*Highlight ways in which current systems of care, service, and support need to
be improved and show instances where things have gone wrong as examples of
systemic failures/inadequacies that must be addressed

*Provide examples of things we’ve gotten right to celebrate those doing
innovative things to meet the needs of older Americans and highlight the need
for greater investment in such essential services.
