TIM CARPENTER
JOHN SACRET YOUNG is an author, producer, director, and screenwriter best known for his work on the TV series China Beach and The West Wing. John has won or been nominated for multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, Humanitas, Peabody, Christopher, and Writers Guild Awards. From childhood, John gained a love and appreciation of art as both a collector and writer, and now he has written a new book about how works of art have provoked and propelled his own work and changed his life. Listen in as Tim Carpenter talks to John Sacret Young about his new book, Pieces of Glass: An Artoire.
BARBARA TARBUCK trained as an actress on a Fulbright Grant to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Barbara’s acting resume includes stints on the New York stage, regional theaters around the country, many feature films, and hundreds of TV guest starring roles, where she is probably best known for her role as Australian Jane Jax on General Hospital. Barbara wrote and currently stars in her one-woman show STOPPING BY, based on her own story of scattering her husband’s ashes at Burning Man. The show is at the Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa Monica on June 4, 11, 18, and 25. Tim Carpenter talks to Barbara Tarbuck about life and death and art in the burning sands of the Black Rock desert.
