News from Pac Arts: Makers Space Studio

At the Pacific Avenue Arts Colony (Pac Arts) in San Pedro, CA, resident artists recently have been engaged in informative training sessions that oriented them to the newly appointed Makers Space studio. The training was led by room designer and builder, Allan White. The  Makers Space presents an opportunity for trained residents to build and create in a fully equipped woodshop. Artists learned about safety procedures and were given hands-on instruction on the various saws and drills.

After the Makers Space session, a few artists gathered in the Photo Space and attended a photography orientation with resident Bejan demonstrating how to set up the backdrops, stands, and lighting equipment.

This past weekend, Allan White concluded the four-session training for residents. Following the safety classes, students were instructed further on each machine as they worked on a Group Project: Jenga – Game and Box set.

Thanks to Meta Housing for their partnership with WSH Management and EngAGE in making this wonderful space and exciting opportunity happen for our residents!
