Featured Resident Artist: Jo Lynda Blake, Burbank Senior Artists Colony

We have many talented, creative residents living in our EngAGE communities. Here’s one from BSAC:

Jo Lynda Blake is a writer and artist originally from Oklahoma. She takes drawing, poetry, jewelry making, and crafts classes, and participates in the writing group. She says that she has always written and doodled. She had a charcoal drawing printed on the family page of The Christian Science Monitor when she was 12. Her story about her father’s spiritual experience was published in Christian Digest. She also has one unique “claim to fame” — a one-liner in the National Enquirer! She was asked, “What is happiness (in one sentence) to you?” Her reply: “Happiness is a warm tomato fresh from the garden.”

Jo Lynda models a scarf she made in the BSAC shibori indigo dying workshop.

Some of Jo Lynda’s colorful work currently hangs in the BSAC resident gallery.

How do I get in touch with with jolynda Blake? I would love to reach out to her about her art. I know Jolynda from 25 years ago. She was one of my best friends but lost track of her when she moved out of Oklahoma.
    Thank you for any help.

I’ll send your information to the EngAGE Program Director at BSAC and ask her to pass it along to Jo Lynda. Happy to help two old friends reconnect!
