EngAGE and the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank have teamed up again to provide a six-month cooking series for the residents at Tavarua Senior Apartments in Carlsbad, CA. Each month, a healthy and budget-friendly meal is prepared and enjoyed. Participants are educated about buying fruits and vegetables, comparing prices, reading and comparing food labels, and planning affordable meals. A free bag of fresh produce is also given out at each class.
