News from Vermont: Healthy Meals and Fine Art

At Vermont Family Apartments in Los Angeles, CA, residents enjoy a once-a-month healthy meal demo provided by L.A. Kitchen.  After a full presentation, residents get to taste the results. Then they go home with a bag of produce and a delicious individual meal.

The non-profit L.A. Kitchen reclaims healthy, local food that would otherwise go to waste. They provide culinary job training to unemployed men and women. And they distribute fresh, nutritious meals to fellow Angelenos. Their inspiring motto is: “Neither Food Nor People Should Ever Go To Waste.”

An Art Class meet & greet gave residents the opportunity to meet our new art instructor, Eddie Stokes. It also allowed Eddie to discover the residents’ art abilities. We can’t wait to see what they create!
