At The Jasmine at Founders Village in Fountain Valley, CA, the art class started painting with acrylic paint on larger canvas to challenge the imagination and design a composition that uses more space. Participants chose an object — real or made up — and used an enlarged perspective that filled the canvas (and went off the edges) in an interesting way. They considered how positive and negative shapes should play into the composition, and for added dimension, they broke up the composition with lines that continue throughout the space to give interest to any areas that were bare due to enlargement. The class drew inspiration from each other and everyone did a great job!
