News from Park Plaza: Exercise Class + Resident Spotlight

Terese Tintocalis’ Exercise Class at Park Plaza Senior Apartments in North Hollywood, CA, has been working together for a long time. They are ladies who are devoted to their health! They have class twice a week and they are diligent! Here’s a group shot of them all.

Resident Spotlight

From Tanya Kutukdjian, Program Assistant: This month we got to see a resident really shine on the dance floor. Gloria had participated in the Senior Olympics a few years ago, but had not been heavily involved in any activities or events until recently. She happened to be passing through the community room a few months ago and we had a chance to catch up. Another resident encouraged her to participate in the bingo game that was about
to take place, and she agreed. She has been joining the bingo group weekly ever since then.
Gloria has taken this as an opportunity to learn a new language. She shows up with a notepad and writes down (phonetically) all the numbers and any words that she hears in Armenian. She is very excited to be learning a new language, especially one that many of
her fellow residents speak! She has already learned many numbers and words and proudly uses them during our games.

Aside from Bingo, Gloria has been participating in our music and dance events. She loves to dance and admitted that she hadn’t danced in a while. She said it felt so good to be able to dance and enjoy music. Gloria also occasionally brings her adorable granddaughters to
participate in bingo games and special events. It is wonderful to see Gloria being so active and happy with her fellow residents and her grandchildren.~ Elizabeth Sampson, Program Director
