Last month, residents and visitors enjoyed two events at ACE/121, our multigenerational arts colony in Glendale, CA.
“Neighbors,” the art show curated by resident Valerie Douroux Schultz, featured primarily artworks of residents of ACE/121, commemorating the gallery’s one-year anniversary. As part of the opening reception, residents Ernie de Silva and Susanna Ghazaryan performed a guitar and piano solo, respectively.
Ceramicist Meriel Stern taught two clay workshops to residents of all ages and the culminating event was a display of all the clay works created during the months she was teaching. Children made pendants that they then beaded and strung on wire necklaces, and some of the works were featured in the 3-week “Neighbors” exhibition, as they reflected work of residents of ACE/121.
