News from LBSAC: Greeting Card Art Competition

The SCAN Foundation has an annual call for artists with a cash prize contest for their Holiday Card. They reached out to seniors in the Long Beach community to submit their artwork by May 31st.  The first place prize winner is awarded $500 and their artwork image will used for the Foundation’s annual holiday card. The 2nd and 3rd place winners are awarded $250.

With encouragement and submission suggestions from the Program Director and the art instructors at Long Beach Senior Arts Colony in Long Beach, CA, talented resident artists applied to the contest.

Numerous submissions from senior artists throughout the Long Beach area were received by The SCAN Foundation and finalists were selected. LBSAC residents Martha Aguilar won 1st place for Elephant, and Alva McNeal won 2nd place for Rites of Passage-Enchanting GiftWe are all so proud!

Thanks to The SCAN Foundation for making this holiday card contest available to our talented seniors, and to all the accomplished senior artists in the Long Beach community!
