News from Vermont: USC Students from Japan Visit

In partnership with USC Service Learning Program, residents of Vermont Family Apartments in Los Angeles, CA, and University of Southern California students got together to engage in conversation, dance, and enjoy raffles. The USC students come from Japan and were eager to share with residents some of their exciting experiences here in Southern California — and practice their English language skills!

Service learning provides an opportunity to learn in class while being of service to others. USC Dornsife is home to one of the nation’s oldest and largest service learning programs known as the Joint Educational Project or JEP, offering students a chance to combine academic coursework and meaningful community outreach.

EngAGE changes lives by transforming affordable senior and multigenerational apartment communities into vibrant centers of learning, wellness, and creativity.
