News from Metro@Hollywood: Whole Person Approach to Creative Living

From art classes to ESL to yoga to community building celebrations, The Metro at Hollywood Senior Apartments in Los Angeles, CA, demonstrates the EngAGE whole person approach to creative living.

Art Class gives residents the opportunity to express themselves creatively. Each month, instructor Polet Zargarian wants residents to continue working on their paintings and learning “to see.” This month, she wanted them to see how depth is created by using values of color in the foreground, middle ground, and background, and in details.

ESL Class gives residents an opportunity to practice their English language skills. This month, they learned more about pronunciation as well as the function and use of prepositions. Practicing general conversational dialogues is also very useful.

Yoga class meets twice a month to stretch out their muscles.

EngAGE and WSH Management collaborate to bring residents a nice monthly birthday celebration. They share a delicious cake, light refreshments, raffle prizes, and a great sense of community.

EngAGE embraces a whole-person approach to creative living, providing college-level programs in the arts, wellness, and lifelong learning.
