News from Long Beach Senior Arts Colony: Community Cup

Helene Weinberg, LBSAC Program Director, reports: Imagine the excitement of our LBSAC team, being the first to win the 2017 EngAGE Community Cup last year.  Our 2018 team members were all smiles as they gathered in the LBSAC lobby before boarding the bus to Cerritos Park. Their team T-Shirts were beautifully decorated, the artists brought their work for the Art competition, and Lucia had practiced her song performance. It was clear that they wanted to hold on to that trophy again this year, yet they were happy for Portofino Villas who captured the 2018 Community Cup prize. Well done!

We are so proud of team LBSAC, who took home medals in the walking races, basketball hoops, and performance competitions!

It is a joy and an honor to emcee this annual event. It’s the best day of the year for me as I witness our EngAGE communities take the field and play their hearts out in the park. Even more fun is watching them mingle and dance all together, adorned in their beautifully decorated T-Shirts and their award-winning smiles!

Take a look at the video Helene made of the big day and see LBSAC photos below!
