At Cantabria/Asturias Senior Apartments in Panorama City, CA, Michelle Yu’s jewelry class continues to make beautiful items that they can wear and give as gifts. They are a talented bunch! Michelle always focuses on and works with organic shapes and, in her fall class, she will be bringing in organic materials as well, with specific orientations to work on as we head into the holidays.
The class is now making jewelry that they intend to donate to the cancer ward of a hospital where Michelle has a friend who works there. These are some of the beautiful necklaces and bracelets they have made for that project.
Research demonstrates that participating in arts activities improves the health and quality of life of older people.
