News from Long Beach Senior Arts Colony: LMU Composting Project

Resident gardeners from Long Beach Senior Arts Colony in Long Beach, CA, met with staff and students from Loyola Marymount University to see how we could partner in a pilot gardening composting program. The campus guests toured our rooftop garden and then gathered in the community center to discuss next steps. The resident gardeners took a survey, which offered feedback on their satisfaction with the garden. With management support, we are looking forward to working with LMU to initiate an intergenerational composting project, which will start in the spring of 2019. See our previous post about this project for more information.

EngAGE connects across generations, helping older adults become involved with younger people in their communities as mentors, sages, and neighbors.
