Welcome to the Team: Luis Tentindo

Welcome to the team, Luis Tentindo, Program Director for North Hollywood Senior Arts Colony in North Hollywood, CA.

Luis is an interdisciplinary artist and educator with professional experience as a contemporary dancer/choreographer, visual artist, and puppet theater director. He loves sharing his passion for the visual and performing arts with diverse populations through visual storytelling, tinkering, and collaboration. Luis’ dance/puppet theater work has received support from the Jim Henson Foundation, as well as through other grants, awards, and artistic residencies both nationally and internationally. He received an MFA in Dance from UCLA’s Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance where he taught courses in dance, improvisation, video, and puppetry arts. He also taught for UCLA’s VAPAE (Visual and Performing Arts Education) program. Recently, Luis worked with artworxLA and UCLA’s FORM Academy, teaching and mentoring teens in this free summer interdisciplinary arts studio program for inner city high school students. Luis’ mission is to co-create uplifting spaces where the joy of creative discovery and self expression are nourished.
