A Time to Show Compassion and Hope

EngAGE and IHO (Innovative Housing Opportunities) collaborated on a project with a mission to reach out to others to show compassion and hope during this time of isolation and fear. They invited residents at Parc Derian Apartments, a family community in Irvine, CA, and Magnolia @ Highland Senior Apartments in San Bernardino, CA, to make greeting cards for Woodbridge Manor, an older adult community in Irvine served by IHO.

At Parc Derian, EngAGE purchased supplies for eight participating families. Regional Program Director Meloney Morse hosted Zoom classes where they decorated their greeting cards together. At The Magnolia @ Highland, Program Director Alma Wright provided watercolor supplies from EngAGE to five participating residents, and worked with them to make cards.

With our combined numbers, we ended up with enough beautiful cards to deliver to all 170 grateful residents at Woodbridge, with hopes that spirits are lifted and new pen pal relationships are made!
