We’re excited to launch the new EngAGE Blog! Our blog has two goals. First, we want it to serve and involve those of you who are residents of EngAGE apartment communities. In addition, we want it to be an informative resource for those of you who are simply interested in getting to know about EngAGE on a more personal level. We’ll be posting news from all of our communities as well as articles and links to information about dynamic, creative and healthy aging. You’ll hear from our staff members and our residents. And we look forward to hearing from you. Please share your thoughts in comments on our posts. You won’t miss any of the news if you subscribe to this blog via e-mail or in a reader. Just click on either of the subscription links in the column on the right side of your screen.
Thank you!
HI TIM it’s great to see this blog and I appreciated hearing your initial experiences with older people. I also grew up in an extended Irish Catholic family and had elder neighbors on both sides of my South St. Louis home. My first experience attempting to volunteer at a nursing home as an young teenager was not so pleasant, however….maybe that’s why I have devoted so much energy to working to bring vibrant elders into the spotlight via the Lifelong Learning Program at Cal State Los Angeles and at the Positive Aging conferences http://www.positiveaging.fielding.edu/ as a member of the Planning Committee. Looking forward to upcoming plans for the 5th conference in LA in December!
