Many of our communities decided to celebrate our anniversary by having a special event in honor of the occasion. Some creative choices were made! Here are a few examples:
Cotton’s Point chose to celebrate with a community-wide art show highlighting the recent work made in class by the resident artists. Teaching Artist Nancy and EngAGE Program Director Megan organized the culminating event. Participants proudly shared their acrylic paintings with family and friends. Light refreshments were served on the patio.
The North Hollywood Senior Arts Colony community came together in the Road Theatre for a special evening of music. First, the NoHo SAC Choir performed under the direction of Coren Zai. Then the audience was treated to performances by two surprise guests: Julianne McLane, star of Always Patsy Cline, and Edwin Cook of Cornell Gunter’s Coasters.
Residents at Magnolia@9th marked the event by going bowling! This unique experience included family, friends, and Program Director Jessica. WSH Management provided pizza for the group before they departed. EngAGE booked three lanes – including snacks. Residents said they enjoyed going out to do something new.
We hope that you, our readers, will celebrate our 25th anniversary with us in your own unique way, too!
