Senior Dog Uggie Retires After Oscar Ceremony

FILMUggie was Top Dog at the Golden Collar Awards and is undoubtedly celebrating with his fellow cast members the Academy Award for Best Picture won by The Artist. The senior dog, at ten years of age, will retire from films after the Oscars due to a rare neurological disorder (more here). His trainer has said that he’ll have an encore career in commercials, which require much shorter hours.
