Artistic EquipmentSanta Rosa, CA: “Extraordinary moments happened one after the next at a Santa Rosa retirement community when 32 middle-school art students presented the portraits they’d drawn of 32 of the residents. Nearly all of the models, all residents of Friends House in Rincon Valley, posed for a photo with their portrait and the Rincon Valley Middle School Art II student who’d sketched it.” Click here to read more.

Business TechnologyTualatin, OR: “Tualatin Public Library has received a $39,853 federal grant for a project that Manager Abigail Elder hopes will create a positive link between older and younger generations in the community. Funded by the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), the grant  is called ‘Natural Resources: Mining the knowledge and talents of older adults’ and aims to utilize skills of retired citizens in the community to teach young people.” Click here to read more.
