“Free Brains”

Elena considers the class at Solara Court

From Nancy Goodhart, EngAGE Regional Programs Director and Instructor:

“The Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation publishes The Power of Brain Aerobics: Maximize your Memory.  Research on mental exercise has been reported by neurologists to reduce your chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease by 70% ! Everyone should spend at least 20 minutes, three times a week, doing mental exercise. That is certainly worth playing the odds.

“I have learned from experience that my apprehensive students do not want to attend a class entitled Mental Fitness, or Memory Games, so Free Brains it is. Of course, I did run into a bit of a dilemma when some of my more savvy computer students came to pick up a refurbished computer brain for their PCs. Alas, I haven’t any of those.”

Cynthia: I am working with a senior group in a small river town of Prescott, Wisconsin. I read that you were starting a program in Minneapolis, MN. Please let me know if I could contact this organization which is located closely to our group to learn more about your program. Thank you. I am a retired Director of Nursing from a senior housing program.
