“Worth Repeating” is a weekly feature on the EngAGE Blog that will bring you previous posts that we think are still timely, interesting, or just plain fun! From 10/4/11:
It should come as no surprise that EngAGE likes radio shows; our own Experience Talks radio show is on every Saturday morning. We appreciate the history of radio, too. In the days before television and back when going to the movies was a special treat, most of our EngAGE community residents and many of our blog readers relied on their radios as a daily source of news and entertainment. So we thought you’d enjoy a look back at what radio was like in 1939. If you were too young then to remember it now — or if you were not even born yet! – you’ll still find it fascinating. Click here to listen to a full day of CBS radio affiliate WJSV in Washington, D.C., on September 21, 1939.
