Gary Burton Talks About 40 Years Working With Chick Corea

Gary Burton wasn’t sure how long the celebrated jazz duo would last. But, “. . . after a while, I thought, you know, at some point, we will exhaust the possibilities and we’ll get bored, or we’ll evolve in different directions and we’ll move on. When we got to the 20-year mark, I remember saying to myself, this probably won’t last much longer. Next thing I knew, we were at 30-year mark. About that time, I said, this is proving me wrong, this seems to just keep on going. It’s going to be interesting to see how long it continues.
